1 week after surgical lip lift. This is an early stage before and after of the video clip I posted last week. Today we removed her sutures. She is still very early in healing, but you can already see an improvement in her philtral distance and upper lip contour. 📸📸📸 A note on photography: The photo angles here are slightly off, but in my opinion, that does not diminish the quality of the result. All of the photos in my practice are taken by wonderful medical assistants and nurses who make a concerted effort to get consistent poses for accurate comparison, although this is not always fully achievable. The temples are a neglected area of the face because no one really thinks about them. However, if you look at a teenage face, the temples have a softness and fullness that conveys a visceral sense of youth. This is a glimpse my temporal augmentation technique. Anatomy here is trickier than it looks because of the proximity of the superficial temporal artery. I like to mark the hollows because they aren’t always the same on both sides. For this lovely patient, the left side was more hollow than the right, and I had to treat these areas differently. 💉 When I was a kid, it wasn’t cool to be smart, and oddly, I have noticed that vexing message resurface again in my professional world. Some find it comical to take the time to analyze facial anatomy, measure, and mark patients. To me, this is an essential first step in order to avoid complications and generate beautiful, reproducible results, both in surgery and injectables. Surgeons, doctors, and injectors have unique practice styles. For me, precision is the ultimate style goal. It may look a bit nerdy 🤓, but who cares? 📐📏🔍🖌📖💻 #temples
