Jawline contouring for a sleeker lower third of the face, a more defined gonial angle, and a more distinct face-neck transition. The anatomic pearls here are 1️⃣ avoidance of the facial artery, 2️⃣ building vertical height and definition of the ramus, 3️⃣ correcting the curvature in the body of the mandible, 4️⃣ differentiating between approaches for the masculine versus feminine jawline, and 5️⃣ avoidance of the marginal mandibular nerve and pre-jowl sulcus. Correction of dark undereye hollows and malar festoons is challenging but can significantly brighten the face, as shown in my beautiful patient here. These tend to be genetic features and can appear in patients of all ages. While most of the time surgery is preferred over injectables, for malar festoons, I think injectables offer a superior and more predictable result. 💎
