HOW DO YOU CHOOSE THE CORRECT IMPLANT SIZE? Patient preferences in breast size vary widely, and there is a range of acceptable implant sizes a given patient’s body can accommodate safely. Appropriate sizing depends on the dimensions of your frame, the laxity of your tissue, and several measurements taken during your consultation. 💎💎💎 I use several mechanisms to determine the best size implants for my patients: 1️⃣ measure their anatomic characteristics, 2️⃣ obtain standardized digital photographs to correlate with those measurements, 3️⃣ have patients “try on” breast implants to get a rough sense of their look and feel, 4️⃣ interpret patients’ “inspiration photos” to understand their desired size, and 5️⃣ use temporary intraoperative sizers during surgery to match the goal look as closely as possible. 💎💎💎 In my experience, this is a very thorough way to give my patients a size that will safely work with their tissues and closely match their desires.
