Kybella is an injected enzyme that PERMANENTLY dissolves fat under the chin. Patients require 1 to 6 sessions spaced 6 to 8 weeks apart. Thorough understanding of anatomy is important to avoid damage to the marginal mandibular nerve, the great vessels, and the thin skin of the neck. Submental liposuction is the preferred approach in most patients, but Kybella is a nice option for those who prefer a non-surgical approach.
