Thanks to my nice patient who spotted me in @allure in this feature from a couple months ago on surgical lip lift. 👄👄👄 Lip lift is a 20-30 minute surgical procedure done under local anesthesia that shortens the distance between the nose and the mouth (the philtral distance). It improves the vertical height of the upper lip, restores favorable lip proportions, and defines the Cupid’s bow. This is a close up look at one of my favorite treatments for hair loss: PRP or Platelet Rich Plasma 🍯🍯🍯. PRP is a derivative of the body’s blood that is rich in growth factors that improve hair density, activity of quiescent hair follicles, and longevity of existing hairs. 4-6 sessions are needed over a 6 month period. I recommend seeing your primary doctor to rule out medical, hormonal, or medication-driven factors. Supplemental vitamins such as folate and biotin can also be beneficial, as can topical minoxidil (Rogaine), which is over the counter in the US. Thank you @newyorksocialdiary @chasingbeautywithdvn for featuring me in this piece about complex and revision rhinoplasties. I gave my perspective on surgical and nonsurgical noses, neither of which are as simple as they may seem. I have seen a major increase in injectable complications being referred to my practice, and it concerns me that people may be performing techniques out of their own scope of expertise. Just because you CAN perform a technique does not mean you SHOULD. For the two highest risk areas (undereyes and nose), surgical experience and 3D anatomic knowledge are instrumental in reducing risk of necrosis and blindness— and even then that is not a guarantee. In the era of “Instagram doctors,” remember that real medicine takes place in classrooms, hospitals, clinics, and exam rooms, and take your health and safety seriously. What do you think? ⤵️⤵️⤵️ 💎
