WHAT IS SUBMENTAL LIPOSUCTION? Submental liposuction is a short surgical procedure that removes “double chin” fullness via a small hidden incision. It takes about 20-30 minutes and can be done awake with local numbing anesthesia only. No skin is removed, but skin tightening can be achieved with customized techniques. My beautiful patient here is pictured before and 6 weeks after surgery. We are both absolutely ecstatic with her result. Though I counseled her that a surgical necklift would be more powerful, she preferred to wait on that procedure and do this as a temporizing measure.
