Plastic surgeons like to discuss the risks, benefits, alternatives, and indications for procedures with their patients. This procedure, tear trough augmentation, is the main alternative to blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery, shown in my previous post). Surgery is a more powerful and permanent procedure for most patients, but tear trough augmentation has several attributes: no downtime, excellent ability to correct hollow under-eyes and dark circles, no incisions, and no requirement for surgery.
