I was chatting with a patient today about how nonsurgical rhinoplasty has transformed my approach to noses. Surgical rhinoplasty is inherently more powerful: bone and cartilage can be removed, sutures and grafts can be added, results last forever, and in the long run it is more cost-effective. On the other hand, results of surgical rhinoplasty are less predictable and less precise, downtime can be significant, general anesthesia is required, and there is variability in healing that can add an element of unpredictability. The limitations of nonsurgical rhinoplasty are that it can only add and not subtract, and results do not last forever, with average being 1-2 years (range 3 months to 3 years in my practice). Conversely, nonsurgical rhinoplasty is extremely precise, less expensive, can be very effective for revisions or patients who don’t want surgery, and is ideal for aesthetic perfectionists who want to participate in all the details of their noses. 💎💎💎 Ultimately I think that both techniques are very important, and I personally feel that my experience with one informs my experience with the other, and vice versa. Injectable correction of deep undereye hollows and dark circles 💉💉💉 This beautiful patient wanted to look less tired in a minimal-downtime manner. I performed tear trough augmentation to address her concerns. This technique uses injectable filler to soften undereye hollowing and brighten the look of the eyes. It takes a few minutes and lasts 1-2 years. This result is immediately after treatment but results continue to improve slowly over the course of about 3 weeks. 💎
